Our E-Learning Partners Speak Out

In June 2002, Western Governors University (WGU) partnered with World Wide Learn to spread the word about America's first online, competency-based university.

"We decided to use the services of World Wide Learn because they exclusively feature online courses," says Pat Partridge, vice president of marketing for Western Governors University. "As a result, it's a safe bet to say that students exploring WorldWideLearn.com are already interested in pursuing e-learning in some form. This means that by the time a lead reaches WGU that person is already familiar with the medium and are open to this type of learning methodology."

Another aspect of WorldWideLearn.com that made it attractive to WGU is the fact that World Wide Learn is very selective about which universities it invites to appear on its directory. Not only is accreditation imperative, 'diploma mills' are completely shut out of the site.

"We like our name to appear on directories alongside other credible institutions," says Partridge. "Online learning is quickly becoming mainstream, and credibility issues have diminished. However, they haven't completely gone away. By building relationships with respected organizations like World Wide Learn, WGU has the opportunity to reinforce its position as a quality education provider."

In the fall of 2003, WGU had 1,300 distance learning students. Enrollment continues to grow at a steady clip of approximately 200 students per month.

Hellhake comments that leads generated from WorldWideLearn.com come from all over the world, not just the United States and Canada. "Our payment structure is per lead, which works very well, and I recommend World Wide Learn to other international universities," says Hellhake. "Students who come to us through WorldWideLearn.com are serious about learning online and are excellent prospects."

Sessions.edu offers more than 60 e-learning courses, five certificate programs, eight combined certificate programs, and three starter kits - all online and instructor-led - to over 5,000 students representing more than 105 countries. The courses feature lessons and instruction in graphic design, Web design, digital design, multimedia, and new media marketing.

Sessions.edu is a pioneer in e-learning. In fact, they were the first online design school to become accredited. They believe in their students and their mission - to provide high quality education in an online environment.
